Because the Buddha statues are so large, they were shipped in a 40-foot container with the top opened. This had added extra challenges on the road to Canada. The Buddha statues crossed the Pacific Ocean to Vancouver and then transported by truck to Wutai Shan Buddhist Garden. The whole journey had taken 44 days.
On 2015/06/04 Buddha statues arrived in Wutai Shan Buddhist Garden, President of The Buddhist Association of Canada and Abbot of Cham Shan Temple, Ven. Dayi Shi led the sangha and the laity for a solemn ceremony of welcoming the Buddhas.
The Venerable and monks of Jinshan Temple from Jiangsu China were also participted in the welcome ceremony - burning inscent, Purification puja, chanting.
